World Mathematics Invitational (WMI)



Dear students, teachers and parents, 
World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) is a prestigious international mathematics competition founded and organized by American Mathematics Society (USA), Chinese Mathematics Organization (Taiwan), and Korean Gifted Students Evaluation Association (South Korea). 

Competition Objectives
WMI motivates math students to raise their logical reasoning, to acquire new mathematics problem solving skills, and to experience a sense of accomplishment. WMI allows them to do these through meeting and competing with students from other countries and regions all over the world. 

Event Dates and Details
WMI is a two-round competition. First round is called the Preliminary Round, and the second round is called  the Final Round. WMI Preliminary Round (or WMI Prelim for short) 2019 Indonesia is to be held on Saturday
23 February 2019, while the Final will be held on 15 to 19 July 2019 in Fukuoka, Japan.  

We would like to invite students who are math-lovers to participate in this competition. 
• 15 February 2019  - Last day of WMI 2019 Preliminary Round registration
• 23 February 2019  - WMI 2019 Preliminary Round
• 30 March 2019       - WMI 2019 Preliminary Round results announcement 
                                 - Registration for WMI 2019 Final Round starts
• 31 May 2019          -  Last day of WMI 2019 Final Round registration
• 15-19 July 2019     -  WMI 2019 Final Round

Registration
Preliminary Round IDR220,000 
Final Round  to be announced 

Awards 
Preliminary Round : In each grade, top 10% scorers receive Gold Medals, next 10% receive Silver Medals,
next 10% receive Bronze Medals. All medal winners will also receive certificates and
qualify for the Final Round. All other participants receive Certificates of Participation. 
Final Round : Top 15% scorers in each grade receive Gold Medals, next 25% receive Silver Medals,
next 30% receive Bronze Medals. The others receive Merit Medals. All participants will
receive certificates.
